The Richmond Power Station was modelled after the ancient Roman baths. The turbine hall was one of the largest open rooms ever designed.
It was built in the 1920’s and Industry publications called it “The Most Handsome Station in America,” as well as one of the most efficient.
It was shut off the grid in 1985.
